How to Study for the ASVAB
A practical ASVAB study strategy: establish a baseline, target weak skills, learn methods, practice, review mistakes and retest.

Start with a baseline
Do not begin by treating every subject equally. Use a diagnostic or mixed practice set to identify which skills are creating the most errors.
Prioritize the highest-value weaknesses
If math or verbal fundamentals are weak, spend deliberate time rebuilding them. AFQT preparation deserves special attention because AR, MK, WK and PC feed the AFQT calculation.
Use a learn → practice → review loop
Learn one method, practice it on several different problems, explain every miss, then retest the same skill later. This is more useful than finishing hundreds of random questions without review.
Add timed mixed practice later
Accuracy should come before speed. Once the method is stable, add timed sets and mixed questions so you can practice switching between skills.
Protect the final days
Use the final days for error review, lighter practice, directions, pacing and sleep—not panic cramming.
